Malou Hale is a writer and visual artist working across illustrated narrative, painting, and collage. Her work examines the cross-section

of dreams and reality, with a focus on romance, longing, and emotional interiority.

Drawing formally from magical realism, her

work uses figures and symbolic elements not

as literal representations, but as ways to

give form to feeling. Across mediums, the

work is grounded in emotional sincerity and ambiguity, and is attentive to experiences

that are liberating, uncomfortable, or unresolved.
